"Another day another dollar"....this was the all to familiar statement I would hear in my head every morning at 5am Monday through Friday, as I reached for my alarm clock to hit the snooze button in hopes to catch just another 30 minutes of sleep. After four years of this 9-5 "dog and pony show", is what I refer to as my job, I can finally say that in the coming weeks I will find myself to be officially unemployed and traveling the world. At any other time in my life, up until now I would be scared to death to not have a paycheck rolling in on the 1st and 15th of every month, but today I find it to be not only liberating but exciting to know that I have an entire year to travel and explore different cultures, meet new people and experience things Ive only dreamt about. Over the course of the next 12 months I hope to travel to places I have spent the last couple of years only reading about. Although this will be my second trip to Thailand, I can't wait to plant my feet on the sandy beaches of places like Phuket, Koh Phangan and the Phi Phi islands again. My journey starts on October 25, 2011 as I board my flight with a one way ticket to Bangkok Thailand. With nothing other than a framed backpack full of essential clothing, 2 bathing suits, a pair of flops and Toms, my computer/camera, and a bag full of aspirations...I plan on not only sharing what I have experienced throughout my life with other people, but taking it all in like a spounge as I hope to learn from the people I cross paths with. Working and traveling though Thailand has been a goal of mine for many years...its so serial that it is just now coming true. So sit back, hold on and relax as this next year unfolds itself before you.
